Member Referral

Hi!!!

This has been another good week! We had a few lessons this week which has been awesome! We also got to do a lot of service projects weeding, moving rocks, and helping clean! It's always nice to get out and help.

We had a super cool experience this week with one of the members we had dinner with! With COVID and all the restrictions on mission life, it has made finding new people to teach pretty difficult, and so we rely pretty heavily on the member's and them referring us to their friends and family. Anyway, me and Sister Smith have been praying for a few weeks now to find a new person to teach. This lady in one of our wards picks us up for dinner and is talking to us about the missionary work and how it's going. She then mentions to us 2 new families in her neighborhood that she is trying to get to know and is thinking about sharing the gospel with soon. she explained to us that, one of the families isn't quite ready, but the other one she thinks is ready, but the only problem is that they speak spanish. WELL Sister Smith happily told her that we are spanish missionaries and this lady got SO EXCITED! She took us over right then and there to her friend's house to introduce us. The family was so nice and friendly and we gave them our phone number and information, so we are just praying now that they will contact us soon! So grateful for awesome members that help us out sooooo much!!!

This past Sunday, our district gathered together for our own little sacrament meeting since the churches still are not meeting up here. After that, we had brunch together!! An elder in our district knows how to make crepes so we all helped out and had a nice little breakfast together! It was SO fun!

I loved this quote from Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf this past week in his talk, "The Merciful Obtain Mercy," It says, "In a world of accusations and unfriendliness, it is easy to gather and cast stones. But before we do so, let us remember the words of the One who is our Master and model: 'He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.' Brothers and Sisters, let us put down our stones. Let us be kind. Let us forgive. Let us talk peacefully with each other. Let the love of God fill our hearts. 'Let us do good unto all men.'" There is already so much negativity in the world. Let's not add to it. Let us focus on God, love others as abundantly as He does, and do good to all men.

All my love!!!

10 Months Down, 8 To Go!

Hi everyone!

I don't have much time today (I feel like I say that every week on accident) but this week has been good! I hit my 10 month mark which is INSANE!! Only 8 more months to go.

Richard, the man who was baptized back with me and Sister Bateman, received the Priesthood yesterday!!! We were so proud and excited for him, and he was very excited too! Such a special day for everyone involved. We know he will bless so many lives as he begins to use that priesthood power and authority.

One of Sister Smith's friends that she was teaching down in her mission in Chile got baptized on Saturday, so we got to watch it over Zoom!! It was my first time experiencing a baptism all in spanish, so that was awesome! It was cool to be able to feel the spirit so strong too even through a video call, so far away.

I hope you all have a great week! So much love!

Goodbye Clifford :((

Hiiiii friends!

These past 2 weeks have been full of ups and downs! First, TEGHAN GOT BAPTIZED! It was such an exciting day!! Teghan is just the sweetest little boy and we were so happy for him and his family! He is such an example of faith, I love that kid.

On a sadder note, Sister Watanabe finished her mission this past week and went home. It was a very sad day for Apartment 3. All I can say is, our Mission President truly is inspired, because he really put together an apartment of sisters who would become best friends! She was such an example to me of the kind of missionary I should try and hope to be! We also faced another devastating loss this week...our car, Clifford (it was a big, bright red car). Never have 2 missionaries appreciated a car so much. We are now back to walking and riding bikes! RIP Clifford </3

We have been able to teach some of Hermana Smith's friends and investigators that she was teaching down in Chile, so that has been awesome! I haven't been able to use spanish in so long! I'm definitely getting rusty, which is sad, but it's good to start really practicing again! Also, I thought speaking and understanding Spanish in Idaho was hard...they speak about 1000000x faster down in Chile, I've really got work to do.

Lots of changes happened this past transfer. Our district got lots of new people in it! I'm really missing our last district, we were all so close, but I'm excited to become friends with all these new missionaries! Our apartment also got another set of sisters, so Apartment 3 is now a 6 girl apartment!! It's crazy, but it's definitely a party! Me and Sister Smith are excited to be staying together in Kuna for another 6 weeks, though!!

I want to finish with this quote from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, one of my favorite speakers and apostles. "If we give our hearts to God, if we love the Lord Jesus Christ, if we do the best we cna to live the gospel, then tomorrow-and every other day-is ultimately going to be magnificent, even if we don't always recognize it as such. Why? Because our Heavenly Father wants it to be! He wants to bless us. A rewarding, abundant, and eternal life is the very object of His merciful plan for His children! It is a plan predicated on the truth, 'that all things work together for good to them that love God.' So keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever."

All my looooooove,
Hermana Rawlins
